Technical Support Centre

Severn Controls provides a tailored 'Unique' service to commercial and industrial customers across the UK. Our systems allow us to control all your energy elements i.e. electricity, gas, steam and water usage from our Technical Support Centre in Gloucestershire.

We provide a complete service from planning and systems design to energy control complemented by detailed reporting.

Tailored Service
Our developed service to customers includes  the centralised control of over 800 retail/ commercial premises for companies such as Next and Boots. This involves the monitoring and control of lighting, air conditioning, heating and other electrical items in stores, which can only be accessed by our remote systems. Our centralised energy control typically cuts energy costs by up to 25%, providing significant benefits both financially and in terms of the environmental impact.

Personal Contact
While our energy control provides significant savings, we can also provide a flexible service via our Technical Support Centre. This may include adjustments to lighting and heating/air conditioning temperature control units to incorporate early opening hours, bank holidays and requests from individual stores, offices or industrial units.

Faults Reporting
Maintenance time and costs can be cut significantly by our 'Unique' monitoring system, which allows precise identification and tracking of faults as soon as they occur. This saves time for your staff from the factory or shop floor, management or the maintenance department. It allows planned maintenance to take place and often fixes problems before the customer is even aware of it.

Reporting Tools
Precise software developed over several years gives us complete information about the energy usage of your company. This can include the power usage of individual sites, peaks and troughs of energy use throughout the day and night.  Exception reporting is a vital tool which allows us to see if the energy usage statistics exceed what is expected to be the norm.

Up to date information allows us to provide a more effective and efficient service in keeping clients well informed, while letting you do what you are best at - running your business.

Cutting the Cost of Energy
The most significant effect of our service is in the reduction of energy usage. With more effective control of energy, companies can save money and have a lesser effect on the environment. Our systems provide real proof of green credentials, which can greatly improve your customer perception and regulatory requirements.

Find out more about these twin benefits below.

Saving Energy

Our energy management systems typically save customers at least 25% on their energy costs. With more information at your fingertips and better control of your energy, you can reduce cost by eliminating waste, improving maintenance and meeting government regulations.

Return on Investment
We provide tailored energy management solutions to suit your particular needs, which means you get the system that will work best to save you energy, whether you need an individual control system or a full Technical Support Centre monitoring service. The costs of implementing our systems will soon be offset by energy savings that will continue into the future.

Cutting Waste
Saving energy is not just about installing new equipment and services, but also in the power of information. Our reports provide specific realtime information about how you are using power - which sites are using the most, which times of day power is highest, and which individual electrical units are having an effect on your energy usage.

With this information, you can take action to streamline your energy usage, and you'll have documented evidence of usage to convince your colleagues and shareholders that real savings are being made.

Implications for Finance and Regulation
More efficient energy usage means a more efficient company, and this has implications with financial providers, suppliers and customers, and government regulations. Your energy efficiency will help you with tendering for work, securing financial investment, and meeting your legal requirements.

Cutting Pollution

The environmental impact of businesses is becoming more and more evident, both in terms of media perception and scientific data. At Severn Controls we pride ourselves on the experience we have had of dramatically reducing the energy usage of our customers, and providing them with green credentials.

Public Perception
Public awareness of the environmental question has intensified over the last few years, with media reporting more confident of the effects of global warming. Green consumer choices have increased and the public, including your customers, expects businesses to take the lead in creating a more sustainable future. Investment in energy management systems will provide its own financial benefit, but will also provide real proof to the public that you are investing in a greener future, improving your brand and customer perception.

Government Regulations
Initiatives such as the Carbon Fuel Levy Charge are implementing real financial costs to business energy usage, even beyond the unit cost itself. Green credentials are also becoming increasingly important in the supply of government agencies. Governments across the world are taking initiatives to penalise excessive energy usage and reward efforts to reduce the environmental impact of business. Whatever the effect of these moves, there is no doubt that environmental credentials are a real and growing factor in running a successful business in the UK.

Taking Responsibility
Beyond the benefits in cost savings and public relations, business owners and managers across the UK are becoming more aware and concerned about the impact of their production on the environment. Our energy management systems allow you to improve your green credentials without affecting productivity or cost. Energy conservation doesn't have to mean going without, but can be achieved with a more efficient approach to energy, which will also save you money.
